PDL are well advanced in preparing detailed drawings for renovating, extending and modernising an old stone built property that was partly rebuilt in the 1990’s using modern building material. The building has since become derelict and is in poor structural condition, so Pembroke Design and our Client have approached this project with the aim of mixing traditional with modern, but using sustainable materials, whilst respecting its historic value. Timber sash windows will replace plastic, natural will replace the artificial, and a mix of timber cladding and zinc with aluminium frame, adds interest to the overall theme.
The idea is to restore the old cottage with chimney stack, and create an open view towards the open countryside.
